Peeping On Tom - Zoetrope

Voyeurism, in and of itself, is the act of watching and observing for pleasure. Within that is our love of cinema. Whilst looking at filmic language I looked into one of its older devices, the zoetrope. I enjoyed that its design meant that when interacting with one there is a moment of recognition, of satisfaction and happiness at having achieved the animated visual. That it forces a peering, staring voyeuristic posture. That when set up at about waist height in order to see the animation and not just the images spinning overhead you have to bend 45 - 90 degrees at the waist, hands on knees, peering, leanining and tilting back and forth, that builds up to this sudden momen, this pleasure of watching.
